Sweet & Salty Snack Mix
We are snack people.
We love things we can munch on while we’re doing other things. We like things we can take with us when we’re on the go. Are you like that, also? We are also very fond of flexibility. That’s the best thing about this snack mix…you can pretty much make it into anything you like!
Melt butter, sugar and corn syrup plus water.
Put all dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Once baked, toss a few times until cool and enjoy!
Sweet and Salty Snack Mix
- 1 Bag (7.5 oz) Bugles
- 6 oz Crispex or Chex of your choice
- 6 oz Butter Snap Pretzels
- 10 oz Macadamias, Peanuts, Almonds or mix
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 4 oz (1 Stick) Salted Butter
- 1/4 Cup Light Corn Syrup
- 2 TBS water
Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
Combine all dry ingredients in a LARGE bowl (or 2 medium bowls)
Combine sugar, butter, corn syrup and water in a small saucepan and cook over low heat until the butter is just melted. Pour about half of the sugar syrup over the dry ingredients and mix well (it’s easiest to use your hands for this). Pour the remaining sugar syrup over and mix completely, being sure all dry ingredients are evenly coated with the syrup.
Divide mixture evenly between two large (13″ x 18″) baking sheets and spread to make one even layer on each. Bake for 45 minutes, tossing the mixture on each tray with a spatula and rotating between oven shelves every 15 minutes. Remove from oven and give one more good toss to each tray. Cool on wire racks, tossing again a couple of times as the mixture cools.
Store in an airtight container.
