Makes 1 cocktail

Blackberry Simple Syrup

  • 1 heaping cup of whole blackberries
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water

Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pan. Bring to a boil and stir constantly until sugar is dissolved. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove the pan from heat and crush the blackberries using a potato masher. Let steep in the pan until cool. Strain through a fine-mesh strainer, gently pressing the blackberry solids with a rubber spatula to extract as much syrup as possible.

Syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
