Froot Loops Marshmallow Treats

Froot Loops Marshmallow Treats

We’re in the dog days of summer here and the kids are getting bored. And they are always, always hungry. Is that because they’re teenagers? We are guessing the answer is yes.

In an effort to engage them in some kind of cooking activity and have the outcome be something they enjoy, we decided to make Froot Loops Marshmallow Treats this week. We made four different types (you’ll likely see the others posted here at a later date so check back if you’re a fan!) and these fruity marshmallow ones were the clear kid favorite. They are also very pretty to gaze upon!

These Froot Loops Marshmallow Treats are so super easy to make and they travel very well so you can bring them along on all of your remaining summer adventures.

Just don’t tell the dentist you ate them 🙂

Froot Loops Marshmallow Treats ingredients

Pretty simple ingredients!

Froot Loops Marshmallow Treats

  • 1 10.5-oz box Froot Loops Marshmallows cereal
  • 1 10-oz bag mini marshmallows
  • ¼ cup butter

Line a 9” x 13’ pan with parchment paper cut to fit the length of the pan and let the ends hang  over the edges of the pan. Use cooking spray on the exposed sides of the pan.

Melt the butter in a large pot or Dutch oven. When melted, add the marshmallows and stir constantly until they are melted and smooth. Add the cereal and stir until coated with the marshmallow mixture.

Using wax paper coated with cooking spray, gently press the cereal and marshmallow mixture into the prepared pan.

Let cool for an hour. Slice and enjoy!

Store in an airtight container (although once the kids find them, there may not be any left to store!)

Makes 12 cookies (roughly 3”squares).
