Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits

Dogs are a huge part of our families around here, and it occurred to us that they deserve home made treats, too! These Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits have only four simple ingredients, all of which you may already have on hand. The house will fill with the smell of fresh baked peanut butter cookies when you bake them, so don’t be surprised if both your four legged and two legged friends come running when you make a batch!

Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter (we use Jiff Natural)
  • ½ cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • ½ cup chicken or vegetable broth

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl combine flour, peanut butter and apple sauce. Stir to combine. Mix in broth and stir using wooden spoon to combine as well as possible. Use your hands to completely combine and pull dough together into a ball.

Place dough ball on lightly floured counter or cutting board. Roll to about ¼” thickness and cut into desired shapes. Place on parchment lined baking sheet. The biscuits won’t spread so you can place them pretty close together. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, until well browned and almost completely firm when pressed lightly in the center. Baking time may vary based on the size and shape of biscuits. Cool completely on baking sheet before treating your best friend!

Biscuits can be stored in an air-tight container for about a week. For longer storage, keep in refrigerator or freeze in zip lock bags and defrost as needed.

Makes about 36 – 3” biscuits
